He is the founder of The Human Mile, an editorial platform exploring human behavior, identity, relationships, and society, and Bi+ Black Men, a community initiative dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of bi+ Black men through education, community, and culturally relevant support.
Saint Michael’s work focuses on advancing mental health through coaching, public education, behavioral health strategy, and community-based initiatives. His philosophy centers on creating informed interventions that strengthen individuals, communities, and the environments that shape mental well-being.
Early Life
Saint Michael was born on April 10, 1988, in the Bronx, New York. Growing up in the inner city during a period marked by economic hardship, he developed an early appreciation for the importance of positive community spaces and youth development.
As a teenager, step became both a creative outlet and a source of personal resilience, while participation in competitive debate helped him develop his voice, critical thinking skills, and interest in civic engagement. These experiences would later shape his approach to leadership, education, and behavioral health.
Early Career and Youth Development
Saint Michael began his professional career as a choreographer and coach at Siena College, where he directed the institution’s S.O.L.I.D. Step Team. His work in collegiate leadership inspired a broader commitment to youth development and community engagement.
He later founded The CAPITAL Project, an initiative designed to increase civic participation among middle and high school students from underserved communities. Through the organization, he taught after-school policy debate and organized the first policy debate league in Albany, New York, providing students with opportunities to develop public speaking, critical thinking, and civic leadership skills.
Building on this work, Saint Michael founded R. Holland Choreography, a choreography company specializing in step programs for youth in historically underserved neighborhoods. Through the organization, he partnered with the Albany County District Attorney’s Office and several schools within the Brighter Choice Charter Schools network to provide enrichment programming focused on leadership, teamwork, discipline, and personal development.
Transition to Behavioral Health
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the loss of many community-based opportunities prompted Saint Michael to redirect his entrepreneurial efforts toward mental health and behavioral health. He expanded his work into professional mental health coaching while continuing his commitment to education and community engagement.
Saint Michael holds professional accreditation through the Complementary Therapists Accredited Association (CTAA), an international professional accreditation organization supporting coaches, complementary therapists, and training providers.
Current Work
Today, Saint Michael’s work spans coaching, behavioral health strategy, media, and public health education.
He is the founder of The Human Mile, an editorial publication examining human behavior, identity, relationships, families, communities, and the social systems that shape everyday life. Through research-informed articles and educational media, the platform seeks to make complex behavioral and public health topics accessible to a broad audience.
He is also the founder of Bi+ Black Men, a community initiative that creates safe, affirming spaces for bi+ Black men through education, peer connection, and mental health awareness. The initiative promotes visibility, belonging, and culturally relevant conversations surrounding identity and emotional well-being.

Philosophy
Saint Michael’s work is guided by the belief that mental health extends beyond the individual. His approach recognizes that relationships, communities, education, and social systems all influence psychological well-being. Rather than focusing solely on treatment, his work emphasizes prevention, education, and community engagement through informed interventions that promote healthier individuals and stronger communities.
